Washington, DC – The Airport
Consultants Council (ACC) presented its prestigious 2009 Agency Best
Practices Award to Mark
McClardy and LaVerne Reid of the Federal Aviation
Administration (FAA). This Award, which recognizes excellence in
individuals, teams and organizations working closely with the airport
consultant community, was presented at the ACC/FAA/TSA Summer Workshop
Series Awards Luncheon on July 15, 2009.
The membership of ACC believes that
industry partners play a pivotal role in airport projects. Because of
this belief, ACC seeks to acknowledge those who have shown a spirit for
streamlining, a dedication to teamwork and an unwavering commitment to
all stakeholders. The selection process also recognizes partners who are
flexible when circumstances require it, and highly regarded as
experienced, knowledgeable resources.
McClardy is the Manager of
the Western Pacific Region Airports Division. He received the award
based on his exemplary leadership in streamlining airport development
within the region. He has increased communication and collaboration
between state aviation departments, state airport associations, and the
FAA. His efforts have resulted in the publication of Best Practices
Guides for Arizona and California. McClardy has a degree in civil
engineering from Michigan State University and previously served as
Manager of the Planning Programming Branch in the Great Lakes
Region.
Reid, the Manager of the
New England Region Airports Division, was honored due to her impact on
airport facility funding, facilities development and operations among
Northeast airports. Since assuming her role in 2005, Reid has
worked to foster clear and concise communication between the FAA,
airports and airport consultants. Reid is a graduate of the University
of Alaska and holds a M.A. in public administration from the University
of California. With over 25 years in the FAA, she worked as the manager
of the Airports District Office in Memphis, TN prior to assuming her
current role for the New England Region.
