Ruhl Receives 2007 ACC Board Chair Award

Alexandria, VA – Terry A. Ruhl, P.E., Director of Aviation with CH2M HILL, is the recipient of the 2007 Airport Consultants Council Board of Governors Chair Award. ACC’s 2007 Board Chair Brian Reed with Reynolds, Smith & Hills, Inc. presented Ruhl the award during ACC’s Annual Conference & Exposition. The award is given annually to an ACC member who has, in the opinion of the Board of Governors Chair, shown exceptional commitment to ACC and has been of particular assistance during the Board Chair's tenure.

Terry Ruhl currently sits on the ACC Board of Governors and chaired the 2007 ACC Annual Conference & Exposition in Phoenix, Arizona. A long time ACC member, Ruhl has also served as the Vice Chair for the Airport Planning, Design and Construction Symposium, Chair and Vice Chair of the Engineering Committee and for two years as the Chair of the ACC Education Committee.

As the Director of Aviation for CH2M HILL, a global infrastructure company with more than $5 billion in annual revenues and 23,000 employees, Ruhl is responsible for the growth and profitability of the Aviation Market Segment, both domestic and international. 

Ruhl has served in a variety of program and project management, engineering, and planning assignments at more than 80 commercial service, general aviation and military airports, including 15 international airport project locations. He has completed a wide range of airport and related transportation projects, ranging from conceptual planning to design and construction coordination.

Ruhl has been involved with some of the world's most challenging airport programs, including work at Washington-Dulles International Airport, Palm Beach International Airport, Memphis International Airport, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, and at other military and civilian airport facilities overseas.  He is currently the Chair of the Joint Venture Board for BPC Airport Partners, the master civil engineering organization working on the multi-billion dollar Chicago O'Hare International Airport Modernization Program (OMP).

The Airport Consultants Council (ACC) is the international trade association that represents the unique interests of consultant firms and related businesses that provide airport development and operations expertise. Founded in 1978, ACC Headquarters is located in the Washington, D.C. area.
