Alexandria, VA -
The Airport Consultants Council (ACC) is pleased to announce the
promotion of Thomas John (T.J.) Schulz to the position of Executive Vice
President. This promotion acknowledges the tremendous leadership
capabilities that Schulz has demonstrated and the increasing
responsibilities that he has assumed since joining ACC in June of
2006.
“T.J. has steadily expanded
his industry interface on behalf of ACC and has consistently impressed
ACC membership with his ability to facilitate and lead various
innovative initiatives,” said ACC President Paula Hochstetler.
“He doesn’t shy away from major challenges and shows solid
judgment and finesse. True leadership requires these qualities and
I’m pleased to call attention to his successes and his promising
future.”
Since joining ACC as Vice
President in 2006, Schulz has overseen numerous activities of the
Council, including managing its legislative and regulatory program,
facilitating the association’s training program under the ACC
Institute, and serving as the staff liaison for many of ACC’s
committees. Of particular note is the leadership role that he played as
a member of the Sustainable Aviation Guidance Alliance
(SAGA).
From 2002 to 2006 Schulz was
the Director of Transportation Programs with the American Council of
Engineering Companies (ACEC), where he was responsible for implementing
their legislative and regulatory priorities. He also coordinated their
surface transportation authorization bill activities, including the
development of ACEC’s reauthorization priorities and coordinating
grassroots campaigns; and in 2003 he managed their Federal Aviation
Administration reauthorization activities.
Schulz spent the previous nine
plus years with the American Association of State Highway and
Transportation Officials (AASHTO), where he served in a number of
capacities including Government Affairs Associate.
He graduated from Bucknell
University in Lewisburg Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts degree in
Political Science. He is married to Kris Schulz, has a seven-year-old
son Jack and a four-month-old golden retriever named
Chewbacca.
The Airport
Consultants Council (ACC) is the international trade association that
represents the unique interests of consultant firms and related
