ACC President Hochstetler Elected 2007 Aero Club President

Washington, DC – The Aero Club of Washington elected Airport Consultants Council (ACC) President Paula P. Hochstetler as the 2007 President on January 23, 2007. The Secretary of the U.S. Department of Transportation Mary Peters began her keynote speech at the Aero Club Luncheon by congratulating Hochstetler for her new appointment.

Along with Secretary Peters and Hochstetler at the head table were Federal Aviation Administrator Marion Blakey, Government Accountability Office Director of Civil Aviation Issues Gerald Dillingham, and the 2006 Aero Club President Deborah McElroy, formerly President of the Regional Airline Association and recently named Senior Vice President of Government Affairs for ACI-NA.

Hochstetler’s appointment as Aero Club President acknowledges the ACC’s role and vital presence in the industry. As the Aero Club President, Hochstetler will be meeting with and introducing industry leaders including airline CEOs and government agency leaders.

The Aero Club of Washington fosters and promotes interest in the principles and development of aeronautics. As an industry cornerstone, the Aero Club is dedicated to building public awareness of aviation and aerospace issues and achievements through its famed monthly luncheons, hosting the Wright Memorial Dinner, and promoting its educational programs.

As President of the Airport Consultants Council, Hochstetler represents businesses providing expertise relating to the development of airports worldwide.  For over a decade she has attended to the interests of airport consultants in both the governmental and commercial arenas. Her activities include making presentations at a variety of government and private sector events, presenting testimony before the US Congress, and authoring articles relating to the concerns of consultants. Prior to joining ACC, Ms. Hochstetler spent 15 years planning airports worldwide. As such, she advised the leadership of major hub and general aviation airports on environmental, land use, airfield, terminal, capacity, forecast, and funding issues. 

The Airport Consultants Council (ACC) is the international trade association that represents the unique interests of consultant firms and related businesses that provide airport development and operations expertise. Founded in 1978, ACC Headquarters is located in the Washington, DC area.
