The Airport Consultants Council (ACC) has collaborated
with industry experts for the recent release of two publications:
Improving the Quality of Airport Projects:
ACC/FAA Best Practices, and Airport Information Technology & Systems:
Best Practices for the Airport
Industry.
Improving the Quality of Airport
Projects: ACC/FAA Best Practicesis the
updated version of a publication released in 2001. Revised by a joint ACC/FAA task
force, the final product contains new sections and enhancements.
Its structure follows the development of an airport project, providing
airport consultants and FAA staff with the tools to improve
communication and relationships with the overall goal of increasing the
effectiveness of the process.
Airport Information Technology & Systems: Best
Practice Guidelines for the Airport Industry was initiated by the ACC Information Technology and Systems
(IT&S) Committee. The document provides a holistic framework on
information technology systems that affect the airport industry and each
airport stakeholder. As a primer it offers a description of the
appropriate processes to accomplish successful IT &S implementation
alongside an airports’ capital improvement program. Whether one is
pursuing a refurbishment or a new terminal project, these guidelines
will assist in better planning, engineering, construction and
commissioning of projects.
ACC membership recognizes the importance of industry
interface, and the council often seeks out opportunities to develop key
resources for all different facets of airport development. It
appreciates those who offered their time and expertise for the
development of the Best Practice documents, which ACC has posted for
free at ACConline.org.
The Airport Consultants Council (ACC) is the
