The Strategic Plan
In mid-January 2009, the ACC Board of Directors and Strategic
Planning & Implementation Committee leadership participated in a
strategic planning retreat. The Mission Statement, Vision and Strategic
Priorities below were developed. Following the retreat, action items
pertaining to the six strategic priorities were developed and champions
were identified for each strategic priority or, in some cases, for
specific action items.
Between April and November 2009, the strategic priority
champions, assisted by ACC staff, collaborated with ACC committees and
40 of the 60 action items were completed. Most of the remaining
initiatives will be accomplished during 2010 by an ACC committee or will
be further discussed by the board because they pertain to ACC policy. A
few of the actions were cancelled or deferred for several
years.
The sole purpose of this strategic planning exercise has been to
optimize the value of ACC to its membership and to ensure that the
opportunities available to technical airport development experts to
contribute to the broader industry are maximized.
Strategic Priorities (SP)
SP-1: Increase networking
opportunities by increasing membership and participation to all time
highs: A) Recruit a far greater percentage of firms that are eligible
for membership; B) Explore including a broader mix of companies involved
in aviation as ACC members; and C) Increase participation by individuals
within existing ACC member firms.
SP-2: Increase the profile of
Associate members and the value they receive from their ACC
membership.
SP- 3: Make ACC the go-to
organization for the top issues of the day: A1) Safety; A2) Security; B)
IATA, ICAO (coordinated with SP4); and C) Sustainability.
SP- 4: Successfully create and
implement ACC’s International services and initiatives.
SP-5: Make ACC the go-to
organization for Regulatory Agencies and Legislators on issues related
to airport development: A1) FAA/DOT; A2) TSA; B) IATA, ICAO; and C) Legislators.
SP-6: Offer more educational
programs and other ACC services via webinars, web-conferencing, pod
casting, etc.
